On July 18th, the Science and Technology Innovation Industrial Park of Korla Economic and Technological Development Zone was officially unveiled. Xinjiang Jufang High tech High tech Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Jufang High tech"), located in the park, invested 300 million yuan to complete the "2000 tons/year Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) and 1000 tons/year Polyarylene Sulfide Sulfone (PASS)" projects.

Liu Hong, Chairman of Xinjiang Jufang High tech High tech Materials Co., Ltd., introduced that polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), as a new high-performance thermoplastic resin, has many excellent properties such as high strength, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, high electrical performance, self flame retardancy, etc. Currently, it has been listed in the "China High tech Product Catalogue" and "Industrial Products and Technologies Catalogue Encouraged by the State for Development". The derivative product of its structural modification, polyaryl sulfide sulfone (PASS), not only maintains the excellent performance of special engineering plastic polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), but also has superior impact resistance, bending resistance, and high-temperature mechanical properties, excellent processability, richer processing methods, higher cost-effectiveness, and wider application fields compared to polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) due to its aromatic sulfone structure in its molecular chain structure.
"Generally speaking, this new and high-tech material is widely used because of its high temperature resistance, fatigue resistance, flame resistance, non-toxic, tasteless, environmentally friendly and other advantages, such as our common electric toothbrush, microwave ovens, coffee makers, curling sticks, hair dryers, cars, elevators, televisions and so on, especially in the preparation of electrical components, shells, structural parts, gears, bearings and so on." Liu Hong said.
It is understood that in the "plastic pyramid", PPS and PASS are known as the "plastic gold" and are at the top of the plastic family. They are widely used in various fields such as aerospace, military industry, home appliances, and automotive manufacturing. Previously, only a few countries had mastered and applied them, directly imposing technological and raw material embargoes on China. Liu Hong, the founder of Sichuan Zhongke Xingye High tech Materials Co., Ltd. and a talent of the "Thousand Talents Plan" in Sichuan Province, led a technical team to overcome difficulties in PPS and PASS technology processes both domestically and internationally after more than ten years of research and development. On July 28, 2016, China's first polyaryl sulfide sulfone (PASS) production line was built in Sichuan, filling the domestic gap and achieving industrial production.
To overcome technological difficulties, alleviate supply shortages, and pass product certification, Zheng Kai, Chairman of the China Synthetic Resin Supply and Marketing Association, directly called for the material to be more widely used, with a market prospect beyond imagination.
Zheng Kai said, "PPS is known as the 'sixth largest engineering plastic' and one of the eight major aerospace materials. Composite materials made from other materials can be widely used in fields such as electronics, national defense, military industry, aerospace, etc. Its weight is 1/7 of ordinary steel, and its hardness is 8 times that of ordinary steel. Not only can it reduce costs, but it can also improve product performance
In August 2016, Xinjiang Jufang High tech High tech Materials Co., Ltd. was established in the Korla Economic and Technological Development Zone. Currently, Jufang High tech has completed a series of research and development on polymer materials, relying on Sichuan Zhongke Xingye High tech Materials Co., Ltd. and its key engineering laboratories, well-known domestic universities, research institutions, and research platforms.
In the future, the production capacity of Jufang High tech production line will be three times that of Sichuan, not only making up for the shortage of production capacity in Sichuan, but also leaving enough space for expanding international markets such as the Middle East and Africa. The completion and operation of Jufang High tech in Xinjiang is to some extent due to the advantages of industrial agglomeration, "Liu Hong said. Nowadays, this advantage is constantly expanding, and Jufang High Tech has established cooperative relationships with multiple enterprises in the park. Currently, the main raw materials required for the company's production are provided by local manufacturers in Xinjiang, such as Xinjiang Zhongtai Chemical Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Tianye Group Co., Ltd., and Xinjiang Meike Chemical. They transform low value-added ordinary chemical raw materials into high-tech and high value-added products. The raw materials required for the production of Jufang High tech are all sourced from the local area of Xinjiang, which is not only convenient for transportation but also cheap, which is conducive to transforming Xinjiang's resource advantages into economic advantages.
